Turkish GP - Oh the Hat Trick!

Oh the hat trick by Master Massa! He done it! Very much done it!

But what was surprising was the three stopper by Hamilton and he still did not get the pole. No wonder he was that unhappy about it. And boy was I right about Heiki not making it onto the podium (pun intended!).

Just somehow, I think Heiki is not there yet. For me, I kind of have the feeling that Hamilton leeched a lot of experiences from Alonso a year ago. I sensed that McLaren is unable to really setup the car well (at least for the past 3 races) due to the lack of experience of their two drivers.

Kimi drove nicely I believe clutching Hamilton to the final corner. The two BMWs, well, were just as disappointing as ever. Fast but never fast enough.

Anyway, May 22 for Monaco! Oh the prestige! Right now, help yourself to the result and the standing!

Turkish GP - Qualifying

My thoughts on the qualifying? Nothing as interesting as the previous Barcelona.

Then again, Barcelona was a track where Alonso needed, really needed, to pull something out of the bag. It was his home race after all, home race.

The qualifying went as expected - only this time, dropping five in each quarter instead of six due to Super Aguri pulling out. First Q and second Q didn’t come to much surprise to me, although ITV F1 commentator Martin and James were screaming for a few causality here and there. But I guess among all, N. Piquet must be feeling the worst for Alonso was just so far up ahead.

On Q3, my eyes were all on BMW. I am a fan. BMW fan I guess thanks to Petronas sponsor. After this qualifying, I still think BMW is very far away from getting their first win via racing. Note, if Ferrari and McLaren crashes out, that doesn’t count! Think BMW are just not quick enough to be mounting challenges. Or perhaps, just perhaps with me being optimistic, they’re too conservative on their strategy.

Anyway, tomorrow should be a good race. Wonder if Massa will do a hand hat-trick. I wonder.

As for my prediction, Raikkonen, Massa, Hamilton for the podium in order. Think Heiki will crash out.
