Hilarious even for a novice like me!
Truth be told, I’ve never been much of a Simpsons fan. I just fail to see the reasons or appreciate for what it is. But I’ve heard much about this movie, the one and only one (so far). So I finally got the chance to watch it and I must say it’s indeed hilarious.
It’s completely nonsensical yet it manages to blend it some subtle family values. Homer is as much as an enigma as he is a classic accidental-hero. Bart just seems to be the junior version of him. Marge is simply a touché of them both. Lisa is, I guess, the smart one! Maggie comes in the end to perform the best accident.
Overall, the spoofs are definitely the best part of the show. There is no sublimity in trying to hide them. They are all slaps in your face; and that’s Titanic, Spiderman, Frankenstein, Austin Power, Wizard of Oz, Happy Feet etc. (See Cultural References)
7.0/10.0 from me, definitely funny! Now, maybe I’d start watching The Simpsons.
