Fatal Move - 奪帥

Hong Kong triad movie, gun fights, lotsa men in coat, splitting blood, lotsa moves and lotsa ah lian mui. Fatal Move - 奪帥 definitely got all these. But still it’s one dull flick for this aging genre.

Fatal Move - 奪帥

I share the same sentiment for this as compare to Flash Point - 導火綫. There wasn’t really any interesting to watch. The conflict built up seemed old and dull. Not much of an innovation. It was just a matter of who was going to betray who. And when the curtain finally unveil itself, it wasn’t really surprising. No “oooo….” and “aaaaa….” moment.

And to add insult to the already dull show, they allowed Sammo Hung to perform his stunt at the very end of the show – for no apparent reason. Sure enough it was still fun to watch Sammo Hung moved, and apparently I did go “Wah, he still can do it!”, then again, it didn’t make much sense in the plot.

Another thing that made me ponder was the casts of the show. To have so many people, often very familiar faces, I felt bewildered at the failure of the plot to engage. Very sad indeed.

But I guess the moral of the story was simply, kill all. 5.5/10.0 from me.
